Industry Preference: Building Materials / Paints / Adhesives / Construction Chemicals

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager (ASM) to drive sales, manage distribution, and expand market presence for Astral’s Wood Adhesives / White Glue category. The role involves achieving sales targets, handling channel partners, developing new markets, and leading a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Achievement

Achieve primary & secondary sales targets for the wood adhesive category

Drive product-wise, area-wise & new product sales

Ensure effective distributor & dealer management

Execute schemes & competition counter-strategies

2. Channel & Key Account Management

Manage distributors, retailers, carpenters, contractors & OEMs

Identify and activate key outlets for wood adhesive products

Improve outlet coverage, visibility & counter share

3. Market Development

Work with Field Marketing Team for influencer activations

Build strong relationships with carpenters, contractors & architects

Drive site-level engagement and product trials

4. Team & Process Management

Lead/mentor Territory Sales Managers & Sales Officers

Conduct regular coaching, training & performance reviews

Ensure strong compliance with company processes & reporting

5. Inventory & Receivables Control

Monitor inventory levels, ensure timely order flow

Control outstanding payments as per company credit policies

Track financially stressed customers & take corrective actions

6. Business Initiatives

Execute new product launches

Provide feedback to HO on market trends, competition, pricing & product quality

Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred)

8–12 years of experience in Building Materials / Adhesives / Paints / Wood Industry

Strong expertise in Sales, Distributor Management, Channel Expansion & Market Development
