We are looking for a qualified Junior (2-3 years experience) and Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years in Consulting Design experience, ideally with experience working on UAE and/or KSA projects. A background in design of hospitality and residential projects will be an added advantage.
As this is a Design Consultancy appointment, site-based engineers dealing with contractors submissions would not be considered.
Senior HVAC Engineers:
Professional Capabilities:
- 7-10 years UAE design experience in mixed use chilled water projects exceeding 1,000TR cooling capacity.
- 5 years design team management experience.
- Delivered designs working with BIM.
- CIBSE CEng/IEng Certified, (or equivalent).
- Local registered Dubai Municipality or Trakhees mechanical engineer.
Senior Plumbing and Fire Services Engineers:
Professional Capabilities:
- 7-10 years UAE design experience in mixed use projects with central hot water systems heat pumps and gas fired condensing boilers.
- 5 years design team management experience.
- Delivered designs working with BIM.
- CIBSE CEng/IEng Certified, (or equivalent).
- Local registered Dubai Municipality or Trakhees mechanical engineer.

HVAC Design Capabilities:
Responsible for the detailed design of various air-conditioning and ventilation systems for existing and new buildings to include the following:
- Develop design concepts into working drawings, coordinating with architects, structure, interior designers and other trades.
- MEP Coordinator.
- Liaise internally with all disciplines to provide a coordinated set of design documentation.
- Central air cooled and water-cooled chilled water plant design.
- Energy transfer station design and specification for connection to district cooling networks.
- Chilled water pipe network design.
- Duct Design.
- Building air side design for both constant and variable air volume systems.
- Conduct building air balance checks and ensuring Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) requirements are maintained throughout the building.
- Design and specification of direct expansion (DX) and Variable Refrigerant Volume systems.
- Design and specification of energy efficient air handling plant.
- BMS systems design specification and generating control schematics / data point schedules for standard and bespoke HVAC systems.
- Prepare detail design, tender, authority submission and construction drawings.
- Develop the construction specifications, design and budget reports.
- Technical, commercial review capabilities to effectively analyse and adjudicate tender returns.
- Review and approve construction shop drawings and material submittals.
- Manage site teams, budget, payment certificates and report costing.
- Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities.
- Has a good technical understanding for testing and commissioning processes for chilled water networks, VRF Systems, and BMS installations.
- Manage project close out, systems completion and client handover of air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
Plumbing and Fire Services Design Responsibilities:
Responsible for the detailed design of various fire and wet services systems for existing and new buildings to include the following:
- Develop design concepts into working drawings, coordinating with architects, structure, interior designers and other trades.
- MEP Coordination.
- Liaise internally with all disciplines to provide a coordinated set of design documentation.
- Domestic water and drainage pipe sizing using the loading units method.
- Pump head calculations.
- Storm water calculations.
- Plumbing pipe routing design and coordination.
- Hydraulic plant room design.
- Design of fire sprinklers, landing valves, fire extinguishers and clean agent systems.
- Coordinating with other specialist trades and develop the fire and wet services designs according to their requirements e.g. kitchen consultant, spa consultant, landscape consultant, etc.
- Central hot water generation systems, complete with hot water return calculations.
- Drainage lifting station and grease trap designs.
- LPG Gas network design complete with pipe sizing.
- Prepare detail design, tender, authority submission and construction drawings.
- Develop the construction specifications, design and budget reports.
- Technical, commercial review capabilities to effectively analyse and adjudicate tender returns.
- Review and approve construction shop drawings and material submittals.
Project Administration:
- Prescribe and manage BIM operator workflows and output.
- Monitor and record engineering KPI’s and CAD/BIM KPI’s for their deliverables.
- Maintain HVAC design files.
- Generate reports and documents as prescribed by the Project leads and senior persons.
Qualifications:
All qualifications should be attested as noted below:
- Ministry of Education in the country where the qualification has been obtained.
- Notary / Court in the country where the qualification has been obtained.
- UAE Embassy in the country where the qualification has been obtained.
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dubai, UAE
Registration with Dubai Municipality/Trakhees is desirable.
