We are looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design and implement the intelligence layer for a competitive intelligence MVP.
The role involves building a product matching engine using LLMs, embeddings, and vector search, developing ML scoring models, and integrating a human-in-the-loop (HITL) review interface. You will work within an Azure-first architecture (Azure OpenAI, Databricks, Azure AI Search, Azure Functions) and collaborate closely with data engineering and BI teams to deliver production-ready solutions in a fast-paced timeline.
Key Responsibilities
• AI/ML Development o Build product matching engine using embeddings and vector search (Azure AI Search).
o Train and deploy ML scoring models for match confidence. o Implement feedback loops from HITL UI for continuous improvement.
• Data Preparation o Define and validate schemas for normalized product data (Silver layer).
o Ensure data quality, deduplication, and unit/size normalization.
• Integration & Deployment o Expose ML models as APIs (Azure Functions/FastAPI). o Implement MLOps practices (MLflow, CI/CD, monitoring, drift detection).
o Collaborate on HITL UI integration and Gold layer stabilization.
• Collaboration & Documentation o Work with Data Engineering and BI teams for end-to-end delivery.
o Provide architecture diagrams, runbooks, and model documentation.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
• 5+ years in AI/ML engineering with production deployments.
• Expertise in Azure OpenAI, embeddings, vector search, and semantic retrieval.
• Strong Python (pandas, scikit-learn; PyTorch/TensorFlow a plus).
• Experience with Databricks, MLflow, and Azure Functions.
• Knowledge of document extraction (Azure Document Intelligence or similar).
• Hands-on MLOps: CI/CD pipelines, model registry, monitoring.
Nice-to-Have
• Retail/product data experience (unit/pack normalization).
• HITL UI development (React/Streamlit).
• Familiarity with IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and Power BI integration.
