Senior Actuarial Analyst (Medical)

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial projects related to health insurance pricing, medical cost forecasting, identifying the cost drivers and offering solutions for cost reduction.
• We expect from the candidate to have a hands-on approach and direct participation in all aspects of the project.
• Develop and review medical claim cost models, including trend analysis and IBNR estimates.
• Provide actuarial support to client on ad-hoc requests – primarily focusing on the burn cost calculations, cost drivers and containment measures.
• Detailed IBNR setting on overall level and segment-wise depending on client requirements.
• Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor junior actuarial analysts and support team knowledge sharing.
• Review work of junior analysts before forwarding for the final review to senior management.
• Collaborate and liaise with other teams in the firm where needed to ensure smooth deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences or related field with minimum 3.0 CGPA.
• Associate or near-associate preferred from SoA or IFoA.
• Certification in programming languages such as R, Python is preferred but not mandatory. Although we do expect working knowledge of these software packages.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-actuaries.
• Experience in medical product development (Individual or Group), product pricing and actuarial reserving.
• UAE medical insurance market knowledge preferred but not mandatory.
• Prior knowledge of QlikView, Tableau, Power BI preferred.
• Exposure to Python and Machine learning / Predictive modelling techniques
