Job Description

Role Overview

The Senior Accounts Executive will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting financial reporting. The role involves handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, tax filings, and assisting in audits, while providing guidance to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations including bank, vendor, and inter-company accounts.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger postings, and trial balance.
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, etc.).
  • Assist in preparation of monthly MIS reports, cash flow, and financial statements.
  • Support statutory, internal, and tax audits, ensuring timely closure of audit requirements.
  • Review and monitor expense vouchers, employee reimbursements, and vendor payments.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Guide and supervise junior accounts staff in day-to-day activities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
  • Good understanding of Indian taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax) and compliance.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Professional qualification (CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA Finance) preferred.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Adambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
