Role- Senior Accountant & Taxation Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant & Taxation Lead who can manage end-to-end finance operations including accounting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, and taxation for our fast-growing e-commerce business.This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a startup environment, and can wear multiple hats until we scale into a larger finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Controllership

a. Own full accounting cycle – AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and marketplace settlements.

b. Ensure timely monthly book closure within T+5 days.

c. Perform monthly inventory audits.

d. Prepare MIS schedules and support FP&A with financial reporting.

e. Manage vendor payments, reconciliations, and compliance with credit terms.

f. Support statutory and internal audits with accurate schedules & documentation.

Taxation & Compliance

a. File GST, TDS, Advance Tax accurately and on/before deadlines.

b. Handle GST reconciliations (Books vs GSTR-1 vs GSTR-3B vs 2B).

c. Manage multi-state GST implications, ITC claims, refunds, and e-commerce tax complexities.

d. Represent company in tax audits/assessments and respond to notices.

e. Ensure zero penalties/interest by maintaining compliance rigor.

Process & Systems

a. Drive automation of reconciliations and vendor processes.

b. Contribute to ERP/Tally/Zoho migration and finance workflow digitization.

Qualifications

a. Education: B. Com / M. Com with CA Inter / Semi-qualified CA (preferred).

b. Experience: 3–4 years in accounting + taxation, ideally in e-commerce, retail, or fast-paced startups.

c. Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Indian GAAP and experience handling statutory audits.

d. Proficiency in Tally and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.

e. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently.

f. Startup mindset – adaptable, hands-on, and execution-driven.
