Job Description

As the Director of Data Protection at Cognizant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the corporate security's data protection strategy and ensuring regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include training staff, communicating with regulators, and identifying data processing risks within internal systems. Your expertise in data protection law and practices, combined with a deep understanding of Cognizant's infrastructure and organizational structure, will be essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Adopt a risk-based approach to data protection - Serve as the main point of contact for Corporate Security in handling complaints, queries, notices, and other notification requirements - Inform and advise Corporate Security on data protection obligations - Provide guidance on GDPR and other local data protection provisions - Conduct data audits for compliance - Oversee implementation of compliance tools - Maintain records of all data processing activities - Develop and update documentation - Manage incident response processes - Assess risks related to personal data - Facilitate communication with regulators and data subjects Qualifications Required: - Hold a university degree in computer science, computer privacy/law, or computer engineering - Relevant certifications in privacy and information security - Proven expertise in data protection law and practices - Knowledge of privacy regulations and security frameworks - Experience in interpreting regulatory requirements - Leadership skills and project management experience - Ability to work with diverse stakeholders If you are passionate about contributing to a dynamic and innovative organization like Cognizant, where leadership is defined by actions and behaviors, we encourage you to explore this opportunity and become a part of our journey towards a more secure and compliant data environment.,
