Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    The Section Head - Crusher & Raw Mill (Electrical and Automation) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical and automation systems within the crusher and raw mill sections. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical systems, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation to support uninterrupted operations and improve process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Crusher & Raw Mill Operations Management: Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and automation of electrical and control systems for crushers and raw mills, ensuring reliable and efficient operations. Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve the performance, reliability, and integration of electrical and automation systems in these areas. Troubleshooting and Fault Diagnosis: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of electrical and automation issues affecting crushers and raw mills, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement corrective actions, address automation faults, and prevent recurrence of issues. System Upgrades and Modifications: Oversee the implementation of electrical and automation system upgrades and modifications for crushers and raw mills, including installation, commissioning, and programming of new equipment and control systems. Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices during upgrades. Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and integration of instrumentation systems to ensure accurate data collection and process control. Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, automation cybersecurity measures, and regulatory standards during all electrical and automation maintenance activities. Conduct regular safety and compliance audits to ensure alignment with industry regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. Internal Control & Transparency: Implement and monitor control systems to ensure operational accuracy, reliability, and transparency in electrical and automation processes. Regularly assess potential risks, including cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate control measures to enhance system integrity and transparency. Spare Parts and Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of electrical and automation spares for crushers and raw mills, ensuring critical components such as PLC modules, sensors, and communication devices are readily available. Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality parts while maintaining an optimized inventory system to prevent shortages or excess. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the electrical and automation maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and proactive problem-solving. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance technical expertise and team performance, particularly in automation technologies. Coordination with Production and Maintenance Teams: Align electrical and automation maintenance activities with crusher and raw mill production schedules to minimize disruptions and downtime. Coordinate with other maintenance sections to ensure comprehensive support for electrical and automation systems, including cross-functional troubleshooting and system improvements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of electrical and automation maintenance activities, including diagnostics, repairs, system upgrades, and programming updates. Prepare and present regular reports to the E&I Maintenance Head, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), compliance status, and opportunities for improvement. Qualifications and Experience


    Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Automation Engineering. Work Experience: 8–10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 3–5 years of experience in automation systems in heavy industrial or manufacturing setups. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of high and low-voltage electrical systems, motor control centers, VFDs, and protection devices. Understanding of process control and optimization in cement or similar manufacturing processes.
