Our client, a major pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Senior SAP MM Consultant to oversee the Materials Management (MM) module, with a focus on the unique procurement and inventory requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure an optimized and compliant supply chain management system.

Responsibilities

• Lead the configuration, implementation, and optimization of the SAP MM module, ensuring it aligns with the pharmaceutical industry’s compliance and inventory management standards.
• Oversee the management of material master data, including materials used in clinical trials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and finished goods.
• Manage procurement processes (RFQ, Purchase Orders, Contracts) with a focus on supplier qualification and compliance, especially for GMP-certified suppliers.
• Implement and maintain inventory management practices, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards for pharmaceutical production.
• Support integration with SAP FI/CO, PP, and SD for seamless end-to-end material procurement, production, and sales processes.
• Ensure effective management of batch records, stock transfers, and goods receipts/issuances in line with pharmaceutical standards.
• Manage returns, recalls, and goods receipts, ensuring compliance with pharma-specific inventory regulations.
• Provide continuous process improvements, particularly in areas like inventory turnover, vendor management, and procurement strategies.

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in SAP MM configuration and implementation, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement processes, including vendor qualification, contract management, and compliance.
• Familiarity with GMP, GxP, and other regulatory requirements as they relate to materials management.
• Knowledge of batch management, clinical trial materials, and APIs.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Pharma-specific features in Materials Management.

Preferred Skills

• SAP Certification in MM.
• Experience working with pharmaceutical supply chain systems, such as SAP Ariba or external serialization systems.
• Experience in handling pharmaceutical-specific procurement challenges, such as managing multiple vendors for APIs or dealing with complex logistics for temperature-sensitive products.
