Role Overview

Seeking an experienced SAP FI / FI-AA Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Asset Accounting to support the review, correction, and realignment of Fixed Asset configuration in SAP ECC 6.0. The role focuses on resolving fiscal calendar issues, ensuring accurate depreciation processing, and maintaining tight integration with Finance and controlling modules.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing SAP FI-AA configuration, including Asset Fiscal Year Variant, Period Control Methods, Depreciation Areas, and Depreciation Keys.

• Identify gaps, errors, and downstream impacts caused by incorrect Fixed Asset Calendar configuration (e.g., misaligned fiscal year variant, incorrect posting periods, or period control issues).

• Conduct detailed impact analysis on Asset Master Records, Depreciation Runs, Closed Fiscal Years, and Financial Reporting.

• Redesign and correct the Asset Fiscal Year Variant to align with the organization’s actual fiscal calendar.

• Reconfigure period controls, useful life settings, depreciation keys, asset classes, and value dates as required.

• Lead remediation efforts for impacted assets, including adjustments, recalculations, and corrections using transactions such as AW01N, AS02, AFAR, AFAB, AJRW, OAYR, and AJAB.

• Ensure accurate historical depreciation adjustments, asset value postings, and full reconciliation with the General Ledger.

• Develop and execute FI-AA test scenarios, including depreciation simulations, period-end closing, and year-end processing.

• Coordinate data corrections and migration activities when asset master data or posted values require cleanup.

• Validate asset balances, depreciation postings, and period controls after corrective actions.

• Collaborate with Finance Controllers, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure accounting accuracy and audit readiness.

• Provide complete documentation, user training, and knowledge transfer to internal Finance and IT teams.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP FI / FI-AA Functional Consultant in SAP ECC 6.0.

• Deep expertise in Asset Accounting configuration, including:

- Fiscal Year Variants and Posting Periods

- Depreciation Areas, Keys, and Methods

- Asset Classes and Number Ranges

- Period Control and Asset Value Dates

- Year-end processing (AJRW, AJAB)

• Proven experience correcting incorrectly configured Fixed Asset Fiscal Calendars and performing system realignment.

• Strong understanding of FI integration with General Ledger, AP, AR, CO, and MM.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience working in remote delivery models is a plus.
