Job Description

Salesforce Test Automation Engineer
Role & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Selenium-based automated test suites for Salesforce web applications (Classic & Lightning) using Java and TestNG/JUnit.
Create and execute automated API tests for REST/SOAP endpoints and validate integration points between Salesforce and external systems.
Collaborate with developers, BA teams, and release managers to define test strategy, acceptance criteria, and regression coverage for CI/CD pipelines.
Author clear, reusable test automation frameworks, page-object models, and data-driven test cases; ensure test code is versioned and well-documented.
Implement and maintain automated builds and test execution in CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitLab CI); integrate automated tests into pipelines for gated deployments.
Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolutions while reporting test metrics, coverage, and quality gates to stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

6+ years QA automation experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java in a web application environment.
Practical experience testing Salesforce applications (Apex triggers, Lightning Components, flows) and validating Salesforce-specific workflows.
Solid experience with TestNG or JUnit, CI/CD integration (Jenkins/GitLab), and Git-based workflows.
Hands-on API testing experience (Postman/frameworks) for REST/SOAP services and data validation strategies.
Strong problem-solving, test-design skills, and experience running regression, functional, and integration test suites.

Preferred

Experience building test automation frameworks, page-object patterns, and test data management for Salesforce projects.
Familiarity with performance/ load testing basics and monitoring test stability in flaky environments.
Certification in Salesforce (Administrator/Platform Developer) or test automation certifications are a plus.
