Position: Sales Manager

Location: BangaloreGrade: E2/E3Department: Blue Star ECE/PECIS

Purpose of the Role

Looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive business development in the Defence, Aerospace, Automobile, and Wind Energy sectors, with a focus on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) solutions.
The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of sales experience and a strong understanding of NDT techniques such as UT, ECT, and RT.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Market Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy targeting the Aerospace, Wind Energy, and Defence sectors across PAN India.
  • Generate sales of X-ray systems from Automobile, Aviation, and Defense sectors in the Southern region.
  • Identify key business opportunities and set actionable plans to expand market presence and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business goals and ensure the strategy is consistently followed.

Lead Generation & Opportunity Management:

  • Work closely with the team to identify and generate leads within the Aerospace, Wind Energy, Automobile, and Defence industries.
  • Maintain and manage a healthy opportunity funnel, ensuring a steady flow of business leads.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to drive sustainable business growth.

Team Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with the PAN India team to execute sales strategies, track progress, and optimize performance.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve individual and collective sales targets.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, focusing on understanding their needs and delivering tailored NDT solutions.
  • Regularly visit key clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and identify new business opportunities.

Sales Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecast future business needs, and track progress towards set targets.
  • Utilize CRM tools to document interactions, monitor sales pipelines, and analyze market trends.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achieve a booking value as per the set target.
  • Adhere to payment terms and ensure faster/timely collections.
  • Generate and monitor the sales funnel.
  • Work on strategic initiatives.
  • Timely submission of weekly and monthly reports.

External:

  • Frequency: Daily or weekly basis
  • Nature: Understanding requirements and discussing critical issues

Internal:

  • Frequency: Need basis
  • Nature: Discuss booking, billing, and dispatch issues; job activity reporting


Key Competencies Required

Technical:

  • 7+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in the Aerospace, Wind Energy, Automobile & Defence industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge in NDT techniques (Ultrasonic, Eddy Current & Radiography).
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive results.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to travel across PAN India to meet clients and attend industry events.
