Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation:

    Identify and qualify new business opportunities within assigned territories through market research, networking, and industry events. Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to achieve targets.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships, brand loyalty with existing and new customers by understanding their needs, providing technical guidance, and exceeding expectations.
  • Sales & Negotiation:

    Develop and present customized proposals, negotiate competitive pricing and terms, and secure new accounts to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Product

    Knowledge:

    Build a strong understanding of Alok Masterbatches' product offerings and their applications in the plastics industry.
  • Market Awareness:

    Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies relevant to plastic additives. Identify and develop new business opportunities in the masterbatches and additives markets. Provide regular reports on sales performance and market insights.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    Prepare regular sales reports, analyse performance metrics, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaboration:

    Work effectively with internal teams including production, marketing, and technical support to ensure seamless customer service. Coordinate with the sales/production team to achieve organization overall objectives.

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from CIPET (or equivalent institute)

    OR

    MBA from a reputed institute.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience in B2B environment, preferably within the plastics or masterbatch compounding industry.
  • Strong understanding of plastic additives, their functionalities, and applications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales and customer service, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software (a plus).
