Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

• To ensure compliance with

  HSE

  (Health, Safety & Environment) Management System requirements/procedure / practices at site, as per Site HSE Plan / HSE Management system.
• Checking of work permits, identifying the hazards, PPE, compliance at work site and Noncompliance to be informed to the concerned personnel.
• To ensure that applicable Safe Operating Procedure (SOPs) in respective areas are being followed service provider.
• To assess risks associated with operations, tools and equipment, jobsites, and work environments.
• To report near miss incidents, data analysis and submission of monthly report to Head HSE.
• To conduct / co-ordinate induction training (for HSE) at site for new entrants.
• To conduct toolbox talks and Safety Audits of Contractors.
• To carry out

  Job safety analysis

  for the critical jobs as per work permits system.
• To operate

  firefighting equipment

  and take preventive measures like evacuation of people in case of fire.
• To administer

  First-aid or CPR

  to victim (injured person) expeditiously if required.
• To submit

  Daily and Monthly Progress Report

  to Head HSE of the concerned Asset/Basin/Plant/Services.
• In case of discontinuance of work at installation due to various reasons e.g., Force majeure, strike, flood etc., all personnel involved in the Safety Services shall report at respective department located at Asset/Plant/Services Office and render his services specific to HSE Section.
• Implement and monitor the companys

  Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  policies and procedures across onshore and offshore oil & gas project sites.
• Conduct

  daily site inspections and audits

  to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and non-compliance with company and client HSE standards.
• Prepare and review

  HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment)

  and

  JSA (Job Safety Analysis)

  for drilling, rig-up, production, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Manage and control

  Permit to Work (PTW)

  systems for critical operations including hot work, confined space, excavation, electrical isolation, and working at height.
• Ensure compliance with

  client and international safety standards

  such as

  OSHA, OISD, API, NFPA, and ISO 45001

  .
• Supervise

  offshore operations

  including vessel movement, deck activities, crane and lifting operations, diving, and helideck safety.
• Monitor

  onshore oil & gas construction works

  , including pipeline installation, structural erection, tank fabrication, and plant commissioning.
• Conduct

  Toolbox Talks (TBTs)

  , safety inductions, and refresher training for all site personnel, subcontractors, and new joiners.
• Inspect and ensure readiness of

  firefighting systems, life-saving appliances, breathing apparatus, and emergency response equipment

  .
• Enforce proper usage of

  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  and ensure work zones are barricaded and controlled.
• Lead and participate in

  incident and near-miss investigations

  , identify root causes, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Support

  emergency response planning

  and conduct mock drills for fire, oil spill, man-overboard, and evacuation scenarios.
• Oversee

  lifting operations

  , ensuring compliance with approved lifting plans, rigging practices, and certified lifting gear.
• Coordinate with

  clients, third-party inspectors, and local authorities

  for audits, certifications, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of

  HSE documents

  , inspection reports, PTW logs, safety statistics, and training records.
• Promote a

  positive safety culture

  through awareness campaigns, BBS (Behavior-Based Safety) programs, and reward initiatives.
• Monitor

  environmental protection measures

  such as spill prevention, waste management, and pollution control in compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
• Participate in

  HSE committee meetings and management reviews

  , providing inputs for continuous improvement of safety systems.
• Ensure effective

  coordination between onshore and offshore teams

  for seamless implementation of safety protocols.
