Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

Ensure Compliance with Safety Regulations

• Monitor adherence to national and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Ensure company policies align with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

• Conduct regular inspections to identify unsafe conditions (e.g., molten metal handling, heavy machinery).
• Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.

Incident Investigation and Reporting

• Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
• Prepare detailed reports and suggest corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety Training and Awareness

• Organize training programs on PPE usage, fire safety, confined space entry, and emergency response.
• Promote a safety culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.

Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and implement emergency response plans.
• Conduct mock drills for fire, explosion, chemical spills, and evacuation procedures.

Monitoring and Auditing

• Conduct internal safety audits and inspections.
• Maintain records of safety performance and compliance.

Coordination with Other Departments

• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and HR teams to integrate safety into daily operations.
• Participate in safety committees and meetings.

PPE Management

• Ensure availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Monitor PPE compliance and maintenance.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Integration

• Address environmental concerns like emissions, waste disposal, and noise pollution.
• Support sustainability initiatives and regulatory reporting.

Education Qualification

B.Sc. or Diploma or B.E./B.Tech. with ADIS/PDIS from MSBTE
