Safety Engineer

Safety Officer / Safety Engineer Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine safety inspections and internal audits across all manufacturing, machining, and assembly areas.
  
• Identify potential hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions on the shopfloor and implement timely CAPA measures.
  
• Lead investigations for incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare detailed RCA reports and ensure closure of corrective actions.
  
• Deliver safety induction for all new joiners and conduct periodic safety training for operators, technicians, and contract workers.
  
• Monitor and enforce safe work practices including LOTO, PPE usage, working at heights, hot work, confined space entry, and machine safety.
  
• Maintain and update all safety-related documentation such as permits, checklists, audit findings, and statutory compliance records.
  
• Plan and conduct plant-level emergency preparedness drills (fire, evacuation, chemical spill) and ensure ERP readiness.
  
• Ensure all fire protection systems (extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers), alarms, and emergency exits are functional and inspected regularly.
  
• Oversee contractor safety by verifying compliance with plant safety rules, issuing permits, and monitoring high-risk jobs.
  
• Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA, and other risk assessments for manufacturing processes and critical operations.
  
• Support 5S, workplace housekeeping, and safe material-handling practices across production lines and storage areas.
  
• Drive a strong safety culture through regular toolbox talks, safety awareness programs, and Quality & Safety Month initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical preferred).
  
• industrial safety certification is mandatory
  
• 13 years of experience in HSE/Safety roles (as per position level).
  
• Good knowledge of industrial safety practices & statutory requirements.
  
• Strong communication, auditing, and incident investigation skills.
  
• Proficiency in MS Office & digital safety reporting tools.
