Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.
The work model for the role is: #Li_onsiteThis role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Bangalore, India.You will be mainly accountable for:
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs while ensuring compliance with local and national safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain HSE KPIs at project sites; conduct risk assessments and lead incident investigations with corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training for employees and contractors; promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections, maintain documentation, and ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies.
- Manage contractor HSE performance, support sustainability goals, and present HSE performance reports to project management on a weekly/monthly basis.
Qualifications for the role- Diploma in Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation project HSE management
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, statutory compliances, and Integrated Management Systems (ISO 45001:2018, 14001:2015, 50001:2018)
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and contractor HSE management practices
- Proficiency in HSE management tools and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a proactive and analytical mindset
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to lead HSE initiatives across diverse teams
- Willingness to travel up to 70% and perform site work up to 90% based on project requirements
- Industry experience in Automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and general manufacturing sectors
- Exposure to robotics and machine automation environments
