Description
Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-level routing and switching infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) Perform network upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting. Manage routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP. Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, and other Layer 2 technologies. Monitor network performance and perform capacity planning. Conduct network diagnostics and resolve hardware, software, and other network issues. Ensure network security through proper configurations and monitoring tools. Document network configurations, changes, and procedures. Collaborate with other IT staff and departments on network integration and optimization. Support network automation and scripting initiatives (e.g., Python, Ansible is a plus). Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of experience in routing and switching roles. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and Layer 2/3 network principles. Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches (or equivalent). Experience with enterprise routing protocols (OSPF, BGP). Proficiency in troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, ping, traceroute. Preferred: Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP). Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios). Knowledge of network security practices, including ACLs and firewalls. Exposure to SDN (Software Defined Networking) technologies.
