Role Overview

Marketing Manager – Retention Marketing

conceptualize and execute retention campaigns

Key Responsibilities

1. Retention & Lifecycle Marketing

  • Build and optimize

    automated customer journeys

    for activation, engagement, repeat, and churn win-back.
  • Develop

    campaign concepts and creatives

    across channels — push notifications, WhatsApp, email, in-app, and SMS.
  • Create personalized communication flows based on customer segments, travel patterns, booking frequency, and spend.
  • Continuously A/B test messaging, offers, and triggers to improve conversion and retention rates.

2. Campaign Management & Tools

  • Manage

    end-to-end campaigns

    using

    Netcore, MoEngage, CleverTap, or WebEngage

    .
  • Define event tracking, user properties, and campaign triggers in collaboration with tech/product teams.
  • Monitor campaign performance, track cohorts, and refine campaigns based on behavioral insights.
  • Maintain hygiene of event tracking and user data tagging across tools and app versions.

3. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Deep dive into retention metrics — DAU/MAU, repeat rate, cohort retention, churn rate, CLV.
  • Analyze campaign ROI, retention funnel leakage, and user drop-off patterns.
  • Present weekly MIS and actionable insights to senior management.

4. Creativity & Brand Voice

  • Craft compelling storytelling and creative communication that aligns with the brand tone.
  • Work closely with design and copy teams to produce thumb-stopping creatives for engagement campaigns.
  • Innovate gamified, referral, and loyalty-based retention campaigns.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Hands-on experience with

    Netcore

    ,

    CleverTap

    ,

    MoEngage

    , or equivalent CRM automation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of

    user segmentation

    ,

    event mapping

    , and

    lifecycle automation

    .
  • Advanced analytical ability — Excel, SQL basics, or data visualization tools preferred.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking for campaign ideation.
  • Prior exposure to

    B2C transport, cab-hailing, food delivery, or travel app marketing

    is essential.
  • Strong coordination skills with tech, product, and design teams.
  • Fast learner with curiosity for emerging tools and retention science.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in Marketing, Business, or Digital Strategy

    (MBA preferred).
  • 4–7 years

    of experience in digital or retention marketing, ideally in

    mobility, transport, or B2C app-based environments

    .
  • Proven track record of improving user retention or repeat transactions.
