Role Overview

The Billing Lead will oversee the complete billing and invoicing process for Kangaroo Cars’ corporate car rental operations. The role demands exceptional time sensitivity, accuracy, and understanding of tax and compliance norms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that every trip or booking translates seamlessly into accurate invoices, vendor duty slips, and digital closures — ensuring timely client billing and collection.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & Invoicing Operations

• Generate

  daily, weekly, and monthly invoices

  for corporate clients—both

  single-trip

  and

  summary invoices

  as per client agreements.
• Validate

  vendor duty slips

  and ensure all supporting documents are digitally reconciled before billing.
• Ensure

  time-sensitive billing cycles

  are adhered to for multiple clients across regions.
• Maintain accurate mapping of bookings, rates, and tax categories for each client.
  
• Coordinate with the operations team to ensure all bookings are closed and approved for billing.
  

2. Tax & Compliance Management

• Prepare

  GST-compliant invoices

  in line with statutory guidelines (CGST, SGST, IGST).
• Handle

  debit notes, credit notes

  , and re-invoicing for adjustments or disputes.
• Ensure 100% compliance with taxation and e-invoicing mandates.
  
• Reconcile invoices with

  Zoho Books

  and assist with audit and compliance documentation.

3. MIS & Reporting

• Generate

  MIS reports

  for management and clients (invoice aging, revenue summary, client-wise billing trends, exception reports).
• Highlight delays, discrepancies, or pending approvals.
  
• Maintain master data of clients, rate cards, GST details, and PO linkages.
  

4. Process Automation & Improvements

• Utilize

  Zoho Books

  and internal ERP (TaxiMantra) to automate and streamline billing processes.
• Support digital closure of bookings and API-based invoicing for key clients.
  
• Collaborate with the tech team to enhance billing workflow automation.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  corporate car rental billing processes

  (trip-based and summary-based).
• Excellent understanding of

  GST

• Proficiency in

  Zoho Books

  , Excel, and ERP-based billing modules.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting (MBA or PGDM preferred).
  
• 5–8 years of experience in

  billing, finance, or operations

  —preferably in

  car rental, logistics, or fleet leasing

  sectors.
• Experience with

  multi-location billing

  and

  corporate clients

  is an advantage.
