Job Description


Role Overview

The Field Executive will be responsible for driving adoption of our digital ordering app among steel retailers including shops dealing in steel sheets, pipes, roofing sheets, structural items, and other related products. The role involves daily field visits to identify potential retailers, explain the value of the app, assist with onboarding, and ensure that retailers become active users of the platform. The Field Executive will act as the primary link between the company and the retail steel market, helping retailers digitize their ordering process while driving app usage, sales growth, and overall market penetration in the assigned territory. Key Responsibilities:

1. Retailer Identification & Mapping

  • Identify and map steel retailers in the assigned territory (e.g., sheet shops, pipe dealers, hardware/steel stores, roofing sheet outlets).
  • Maintain an updated database of active retailers with contact details, product focus, and buying volume

2. Daily Field Visits & Coverage

  • Execute structured route planning to ensure optimal market coverage.
  • Achieve daily/weekly visit targets and maintain consistent engagement with both new and existing retailers.

3. Retailer Onboarding & Activation

  • Assist retailers in downloading, installing, and registering on the app.
  • Ensure completion of KYC, business profile, and verification steps

4. App Promotion & Pitching

  • Visit retailers daily to introduce the company’s app and clearly explain its benefits (pricing updates, offers, easy ordering, credit options, delivery tracking, etc.).
  • Demonstrate app features on the spot to ensure retailers understand its value

5. Relationship Building & Training

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with retailers to drive repeat usage and loyalty.
  • Train retailers and counter staff on using the app for ordering, tracking, offers, and support features.
  • Support retailers in placing their first order on the app to drive activation.
  • Conduct refresher visits for retailers who are inactive or facing app-related issues.

6. Achieving Sales & Onboarding Targets

  • Deliver monthly targets for:
  • Retailers visited
  • App downloads
  • Registered retailers
  • Activated/first-order retailers
  • Work closely with the sales team to convert app usage into incremental orders.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication and persuasion skills to explain the app and convince retailers to onboard.
  • Basic smartphone/app proficiency to demonstrate how the app works and help retailers install it.
  • Field-sales mindset with the ability to plan routes and visit multiple retailers daily.
  • Relationship-building ability to create trust with shop owners and drive repeat app usage.
  • Target-driven approach with focus on achieving onboarding and activation numbers.
  • Problem-solving attitude to quickly address retailer issues during onboarding.
