Job Title: Restaurant Steward Department: Food & Beverage / Stewarding Reports To: Stewarding Supervisor / Restaurant Manager / Executive Chef Location: [Your Restaurant or Hotel Name] Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Job Summary: The Restaurant Steward plays a key support role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant’s kitchen and dining areas. The steward ensures that all utensils, dishes, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized, and assists in maintaining a clean and organized environment for both staff and guests. Key Responsibilities: Cleaning & Sanitation: Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and cookware. Ensure cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, equipment, and work areas. Maintain cleanliness in dining areas, including clearing tables and wiping surfaces. Operational Support: Assist servers in clearing and resetting tables during busy hours. Deliver clean dishes and kitchen tools to appropriate stations. Handle garbage disposal and recycling duties as per restaurant policy. Restock clean items such as plates, glasses, and silverware. Hygiene & Safety: Follow proper hygiene and sanitation practices (HACCP or local food safety standards). Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely. Report any equipment malfunction or safety hazards to supervisors immediately. Requirements: No formal education required (basic literacy is a plus). Previous experience as a steward or cleaner is preferred. Understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards in foodservice environments. Physically fit – able to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods. Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team. Availability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays. Working Conditions: Fast-paced and physically demanding kitchen/restaurant environment. Exposure to heat, cleaning chemicals, and noisy surroundings. Standing and walking for long hours, occasional lifting of heavy items. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
