Job Summary:

The Restaurant Steward assists in the smooth operation of the restaurant by maintaining cleanliness, supporting service staff, and ensuring that all service areas are well-prepared and organized. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in Hotel Management who wish to gain hands-on experience in food and beverage operations.

The Steward plays a key supporting role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by upholding service standards, hygiene, and teamwork within the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist waiters and captains in setting up the restaurant before service (arranging tables, chairs, cutlery, glassware, and linens).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant, pantry, and service areas at all times.
  • Refill water glasses, clear tables, and reset them promptly after guest departure.
  • Support in food and beverage service during busy hours, including carrying trays and serving under supervision.
  • Ensure side stations are stocked with required items (napkins, condiments, crockery, cutlery, etc.).
  • Follow all hygiene and safety standards as per hotel policies and local regulations.
  • Assist in polishing cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
  • Cooperate with kitchen and stewarding teams to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Report any maintenance or operational issues to the supervisor or captain.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the hotel’s grooming standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality (preferred).
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in restaurant or F&B service (freshers with hotel management background are encouraged to apply).
  • Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Availability: Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
