Job Summary

The Restaurant Captain oversees the service team during operations, ensuring smooth dining service, excellent guest experience, and adherence to service standards. The role includes supervising waitstaff, coordinating between the kitchen and dining area, handling guest requests, and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service

  • Greet guests, escort them to tables, and ensure prompt service.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints professionally.
  • Ensure food and beverage orders are served accurately and on time.
  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and service quality.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise and guide waiters, runners, and service staff.
  • Assign tables and responsibilities during each shift.
  • Train new staff on service procedures, menu knowledge, and grooming standards.
  • Conduct briefings before service to communicate menu changes, specials, or events.

Operations & Coordination

  • Coordinate between the kitchen, bar, and service team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure table settings, cutlery, and glassware are clean and properly arranged.
  • Oversee opening and closing duties of the restaurant.
  • Ensure clean and well-maintained dining and service areas.

Sales & Upselling

  • Promote menu specials and upsell food & beverage items.
  • Assist with reservations and seating arrangements.
  • Ensure accurate order-taking and billing through the POS system.

Hygiene & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor staff grooming, uniform standards, and personal hygiene.
  • Follow food safety and restaurant policies at all times.

Reporting & Administration

  • Report guest feedback, issues, or incidents to the Restaurant Manager.
  • Assist with inventory checks and maintaining service supplies.
  • Prepare simple shift reports when required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma/Degree in Hospitality (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in restaurant or hotel F&B service.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of food & beverage service standards.
  • Customer-focused, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with POS systems and table management.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long hours.
  • Ability to carry trays and handle service equipment.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
