Research Head - Hindi GEC TV Channel

Job Title: Research Head – Hindi GEC (TV Channel)

Department: Research

Key Responsibilities:

1. Audience Analytics and Ratings:

o Monitor, analyze and interpret BARC data regularly to identify trends,

shifts, and opportunities.

o Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports of shows, time

bands, and the overall channel.

o Track competitor performance and market trends in the Hindi GEC space.

2. Content Research & Feedback:

o Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand audience

preferences, content feedback, and genre trends.

o Develop content testing strategies – pilots, promos, concepts, and new

show ideas.

o Support programming and creative teams with actionable insights for

content development and scheduling.

3. Strategic Planning:

o Collaborate with senior management and strategy teams to plan

positioning, time band management, and programming mix.

o Evaluate the impact of key initiatives and suggest optimizations based on

data.

4. Consumer Insights:

o Design and execute focus group discussions (FGDs), surveys, and viewer

panels to gather viewer sentiment.

o Generate deep insights from rural and urban audiences for differentiated

targeting.

5. Digital & Cross-Platform Data Integration:

o Analyze digital consumption patterns if the GEC is also on OTT/digital

platforms.

o Integrate digital and linear data to derive a unified understanding of

viewership.

6. Team Management:

o Lead and guide the research team to deliver timely and insightful reports.

o Coordinate with external research agencies and vendors.
