Environmental samples from aquaculture settings will be screened for lytic phages using V. parahaemolyticus clinical and environmental isolates. The isolated phages will be evaluated for their lytic activity, host range, efficiency of plating, and growth dynamics. Further characterization will involve genomic and morphological analysis to determine phage identity and stability under aquaculture-relevant conditions. The long-term objective is to develop phage-based diagnostic tools that enable rapid and specific detection of V. parahaemolyticus, using either reporter-tagged phages or amplification-based systems.
