Job Description

Key Responsibilities Customer Acquisition & Portfolio Management: Acquire new customers matching the bank’s criteria, flag them in systems, and manage a portfolio of customers, focusing on increasing deposit liabilities and ensuring the customer makes HDFC Bank their primary banker. Cross-sell financial products like fixed deposits, credit cards, loans, and investment products to deepen wallet share across customers and their family groups . Sales & Cross-Selling: Leverage leads from various channels including referrals, branch staff, and databases. Sell a range of banking products such as current accounts, savings accounts, third party products, assets, and insurance. Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets and maintain optimum income-generating product holdings within the portfolio . Customer Service & Retention: Maintain regular contact with customers (e.g., contacting 125 customers per month and full portfolio quarterly), resolve complaints within stipulated turnaround times, promote and educate customers about digital banking channels, and monitor large cash movements to prevent attrition . Operations & Compliance: Ensure documentation accuracy, certification, and adherence to operational standards for customer onboarding and account maintenance. Follow processes for complaints, feedback, and adherence to regulatory and bank policies . Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with credit teams, branch staff, product groups, legal, operations, treasury, and other departments to ensure smooth transactions, approvals, documentation, and customer satisfaction . Qualifications & Experience Educational Qualification: Typically, a postgraduate or graduate degree in any discipline is preferred. Some roles specify minimum percentages and regular course completion from recognized institutions . Experience: 0 to 8 years of experience in sales or relationship roles, preferably in BFSI, telecom, FMCG, or related sectors. Experience in managing high-net-worth (HNW) portfolios or business banking relationships is advantageous . Certifications: AMFI certification is often mandatory; NCFM and CAIIB certifications are optional but beneficial 1. Certifications related to mutual funds and securities are required for specific roles at HDFC Securities . Key Competencies & Skills Strong sales and influencing skills, relationship management, and customer service orientation Knowledge of banking products, processes, and industry trends Effective communication and interpersonal skills Planning and organizational abilities to manage multiple portfolios and branches Analytical skills for portfolio review, customer profiling, and business growth opportunities
