Relationship Executive - Merchant Acquisition & Sales

Job Summary


The Relationship Executive is a critical, front-line sales role responsible for driving merchant acquisition and business growth within an assigned geographical area. The role requires going to market (fieldwork) to onboard new merchants and ensure the servicing and sustained usage of PhonePe's innovative digital payment products.


Key Responsibilities:


Area Sales & Merchant Acquisition:

  • Actively prospect and onboard new merchants (retail stores, businesses, etc.) in the assigned territory/area.
  • Manage and be responsible for the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to final setup and initial service support.
  • Consistently achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales and onboarding targets.


Product Sales & Service:

  • Sell and deploy PhonePe's range of products, including installing 

    Merchant QR Codes

     and deploying 

    Soundbox

     devices to facilitate digital transactions.
  • Provide on-the-spot support and service to registered merchants, ensuring products are working correctly and addressing any basic queries.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and shop-to-shop visits to build a strong relationship with shop owners and drive the adoption of digital payments.
  • Ensure proper branding and visibility of PhonePe materials (e.g., stickers, QR stands) at merchant locations.


Market & Process Management:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the local area and competitor landscape.
  • Adhere to all sales processes, including daily working reports, attendance, and adherence to company policies (e.g., Morning Gate Meetings, Daily Working, Acquisition Process, RRR, Inventory Management, as seen in similar field roles).


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

     Minimum 12th Pass (or equivalent).
  • Experience:

     Relevant experience in field sales is preferred, especially in FMCG, Fin-Tech, or Telecom sectors.


Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must own a 

    two-wheeler

     with a valid driving license for daily field work.
  • Must own a 

    smartphone

    .
  • Must possess a PAN Card, Aadhar Card, and Bank Account.


Key Skills:

  • Excellent communication and convincing skills.
  • Good knowledge of the local area and market.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
