About the Role:
The Regulatory Compliance Engineer (GMA) is responsible for evaluating, interpreting, and applying regulatory requirements, market requirements, standards, and conformity assessment procedures for electrical, electronic, radio, and consumer products across global markets. This role ensures that products comply with international, regional, and national regulations before market entry by conducting technical assessments.
Our Global Market Access Program (GMAP) teams deliver a wide range of services which include testing, inspection and certification of products which are based on a market access plan which is automatically generated from a knowledge-based database called ACCESS. The access plan generated by the system identifies the country regulatory and conformity marking requirements to be met for placing products onto that market.
The purpose of this role is to provide world-leading expertise and technical support within the GMA System Support team who will be responsible for the system updates and accuracy of the data content. The right candidate will work closely with the GMA Manager.
Key Responsibilities 1. Regulatory Research Market Access Identify and interpret country-specific regulations, standards, and certification schemes (CE, UKCA, FCC, IC, UL, CCC, PSE, BIS, KC, SASO, ANATEL, EAC, etc.). Provide guidance on global market access pathways for electrical/electronic, radio, IoT, medical, lighting, industrial, and consumer products. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market access requirements, regulatory changes, and new legislation across global regions. 2. Product Compliance Assessment Review product documentation (schematics, BOM, datasheets, RF characteristics, software functions). Evaluate compliance to international standards such as IEC/EN/UL 60335, 62368, 61010, 60950, 60601, 61439, 60947, 62841, 62133, 62311, CISPR EMC standards, RF standards, and chemical/environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH, WEEE). Conduct internal gap assessments and provide recommendations to ensure product conformity. 3. Project Process Management Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Optimize internal regulatory processes and contribute to harmonization of testing and compliance requirements across product categories. Support continuous improvement initiatives in the GMA team.
Required Qualifications Skills Education Bachelor s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
Experience 5-7 years of experience in regulatory compliance, product safety testing, certification, or global market access. Experience with IEC, UL, ETSI, ANSI, CISPR, ISO standards preferred. Understanding different certification schemes like CB Scheme, FCC etc.
Technical Skills Knowledge of safety, EMC, RF, SAR, energy efficiency, environmental, and quality system requirements. Familiarity with conformity assessment frameworks (ISO/IEC 17025, 17065, 17067). Ability to read technical diagrams, RF specifications, and engineering documentation.
Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
