Job Summary:

Regional Manager Ash Logistics

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Logistics Management:

• Manage end-to-end logistics for

  ash evacuation and disposal

  , including route planning, dispatch scheduling, and turnaround monitoring.
• Oversee transportation of bulk materials like

  ash, coal, limestone, bauxite, sand

  , or similar commodities.
• Ensure efficient utilization of fleet (owned/hired), timely deliveries, and minimal downtime.

Transporter & Tipper Owner Network Development:

• Build and maintain a strong database of

  local tipper owners, fleet operators, and logistics vendors

  .
• Identify and onboard reliable tipper owners and contractors to ensure availability of vehicles as per project demand.
• Negotiate freight rates, finalize contracts, and ensure adherence to agreed service terms.

Fuel & Driver Management:

• Monitor fuel consumption, optimize fuel usage, and implement cost-control measures.
• Supervise and manage drivers including rostering, compliance, behavior management, and grievance redressal.
• Ensure that drivers are well-trained in safety and operational procedures.

Vendor Negotiation & Contracting:

• Handle

  rate negotiations, contract finalization, and onboarding

  processes with local logistics vendors.
• Draft and manage service-level agreements (SLAs), NDAs, and transport contracts in collaboration with legal and commercial teams.
• Track vendor performance and ensure accountability.

Local Liaisoning & Compliance:

• Coordinate with

  local authorities, police, RTOs, weighbridges, municipalities

  , and project stakeholders to resolve day-to-day operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all regional transport and environmental regulations.
• Address and resolve on-ground disputes, delays, and other logistics issues promptly.

Travel & Regional Oversight:

• Frequent travel across assigned regions (CG, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu) to monitor operations, meet vendors, and troubleshoot field issues.
• Conduct site visits, contractor audits, and performance reviews.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

  Graduate in any discipline. A degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Mechanical/Civil Engineering is preferred.

• Experience:

  Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in

  bulk logistics operations

  , especially ash, coal, or mineral transport.
• Proven network of

  local transporters and tipper owners

  in one or more of the listed regions.
• Strong negotiation skills and practical experience in

  vendor management and rate finalization

  .
• Proficient in

  fuel and driver management systems

  and operational documentation.
• Good communication skills in

  regional languages and Hindi/English

  .
• Hands-on approach, willing to travel and work from the field as required.

Preferred Background:

• Candidates with prior experience in

  power plants, mining companies, ash handling contractors, or bulk material logistics firms

  .
• Experience in

  MDO operations, industrial waste logistics, or infrastructure logistics

  is a plus.
• Exposure to working in

  PSU or SEB environments

  will be an advantage.
