Job Description

As a Legal Counsel at the company, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day legal support to country management, business units, and functions in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Your role will involve handling complex, multidimensional projects or transactions across multiple departments and locations. Additionally, you will provide legal expertise in corporate affairs and local governance standards, contribute to complex projects, develop new methods for recurring legal issues, and mentor junior team members. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive legal solutions at the country, sub-region, or region level, including driving high value/risk commercial transactions, program review, drafting, and negotiations. - Support business operations by reviewing and negotiating contracts for hardware, managed services, software, and professional services with large enterprise and public sector customers. - Deliver subject matter expertise on various legal areas such as commercial law, antitrust, employment, real estate, litigation, and regulatory compliance. - Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure compliance with evolving legal requirements. - Advise senior legal leadership on regional legal and organizational strategies, handling complex transactions and crisis situations. - Lead the identification and resolution of intricate local legal issues through in-depth analysis and cross-functional collaboration. - Develop and deliver training and guidance on legal topics to mitigate risks and enhance legal services efficiency. - Provide institutional knowledge and support regarding corporate and governance standards, policies, and processes. - Mentor junior team members to foster their professional development and knowledge growth within the legal function. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor or Master's degree in Law - Post-qualification experience of 8 to 12 years in commercial contracts drafting, review, and negotiations.
