Receptionist / Front Office Executive

Key Responsibilities Guest Handling & Experience Warmly welcome guests and ensure smooth check-in and check-out Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints with a solution-oriented approach Explain hostel rules, experiences, activities, and local recommendations Create a friendly, social, and safe environment aligned with Zostel culture Front Desk Operations Manage room allocations and bed inventory Handle walk-in, online, and OTA bookings (Zostel portal, OTAs, direct bookings) Coordinate with housekeeping and operations for room readiness Maintain guest records and ID verification as per legal requirements Cashiering & Reporting Handle cash, card, and UPI transactions accurately Prepare daily cash reports and handover logs Upsell experiences, café items, and in-house activities where applicable Communication & Coordination Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and management teams Update shift handover notes and daily operations logs Assist in event execution, check-ins for groups, and high-occupancy days Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to Zostel SOPs and brand guidelines Follow safety, security, and emergency protocols Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area --- Skills & Requirements Excellent communication skills (English & Hindi; local language preferred) Friendly, confident, and guest-focused personality Basic computer skills (Google Sheets, booking systems preferred) Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays Prior experience in hospitality/front office is a plus (hostels/hotels/cafés) Passion for travel, people, and community living -- What We Offer Opportunity to work with India’s leading backpacker hostel brand Dynamic, youthful, and travel-centric work environment Learning and growth opportunities within the Zostel Ecosystem
