Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Lead to own the design, delivery and operational excellence of front-end applications for electronic trading in fixed income markets. As the primary point of contact, you will lead a cross-functional team, provide technical direction, and collaborate with business and engineering stakeholders to ensure solutions meet user needs, regulatory expectations and performance goals. This role balances hands-on technical leadership with people management, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject-matter expert (SME) for front-end application architecture and domain-specific functionality related to electronic trading and fixed income instruments.
• Lead, coach and manage a team of React.js developers — set priorities, make technical decisions, and ensure delivery of high-quality, production-ready software.
• Drive design and implementation of scalable, component-based React applications with robust state-management and performant UI patterns.
• Collaborate with product owners, trading desk users, backend engineers, QA, SRE and other stakeholders to define requirements, refine scope and align on delivery timelines.
• Provide solutions to complex technical and domain problems across teams; influence cross-team architectural decisions.
• Facilitate regular team meetings, sprint planning, design reviews, demos and retrospective sessions; proactively remove roadblocks.
• Mentor junior engineers — conduct code reviews, pair programming, knowledge-sharing sessions and career development discussions.
• Ensure integration with RESTful APIs, manage version control workflows (Git), and enforce CI/CD and testing best practices.
• Participate in strategic planning to align application roadmaps with organizational goals and regulatory/compliance needs.
• Promote strong UX practices and collaborate with designers to deliver intuitive, low-latency trading interfaces.

Professional & Technical Skills (Must-have)

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with

  React.js

  (component architecture, hooks, lifecycle, state management libraries such as Redux/MobX/Context + reducer patterns).
• Proven experience working on

  electronic trading systems

  and a strong understanding of

  fixed income instruments and market workflows

  .
• Strong competency integrating with

  RESTful APIs

  and handling real-time data patterns relevant to trading UIs (polling, websockets, streaming).
• Solid experience with

  Git

  and modern development workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews).
• Demonstrated ability to make and defend technical decisions, and to lead delivery in an agile environment.

Good-to-have Skills

• Experience with

  HTML5

  , advanced JavaScript (ES6+), and familiarity with

  UX/UI design principles

  for low-latency trading screens.
• Knowledge of performance tuning techniques for web apps (render optimization, virtualization, memoization).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library), TypeScript, build tools (Webpack/Vite) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with observability tools and monitoring front-end performance in production.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience:

  Minimum 5 years of professional experience in React.js development; prior leadership/tech-lead experience strongly preferred.

• Education:

  15 years of full-time education (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) is required.
