R&D Manufacturing Specialist

We are looking for a skilled R&D Manufacturing Specialist to join our gym equipment manufacturing division. The role focuses on developing, refining, and implementing innovative product designs while ensuring manufacturing feasibility, efficiency, and quality. You will bridge the gap between product design and production, ensuring that all R&D projects are practically executable and aligned with market and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support new product development from concept to manufacturing readiness.
• Prepare engineering drawings and manufacturing documents using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Perform laser machine nesting to optimize raw material usage and reduce waste.
• Work with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality, and marketing) to ensure product manufacturability and scalability.
• Redesign and refine existing products for efficiency, safety, and durability.
• Conduct prototype testing and provide feedback for design improvements.
• Ensure smooth handover of R&D designs into production processes.
• Collaborate on cost analysis, process improvements, and workflow optimization.
• Lead and monitor manufacturing trials for new products.
• Document product specifications, testing results, and process updates in Excel.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Knowledge of laser machine nesting and sheet-metal/fabrication processes.
• Strong skills in Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience in product development, manufacturing processes, and prototyping.
• Good understanding of manufacturing workflows, materials, and machining processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in fitness equipment / heavy fabrication / consumer durable industry.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process optimization methods.
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
