Job Description

1. Quantity Surveying Management

  • Oversee preparation of

    cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQs)

    for projects.
  • Manage

    cost planning and control

    throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and approve

    interim valuations, payment applications

    , and final accounts.
  • Implement and maintain systems for

    cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting

    .
  • Provide

    value engineering

    advice to improve project profitability.

2. Contracts Administration & Management

  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications.
  • Manage the preparation, review, and execution of

    contract documents

    .
  • Identify and manage contractual risks, variations, and claims.
  • Resolve contractual disputes in collaboration with the legal team.

3. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and contract administrators.
  • Allocate resources and workloads effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to

    company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations

    .

4. Stakeholder & Client Relations

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Attend project meetings and present commercial updates.
  • Advise senior management on commercial strategy and risk.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    FIDIC, NEC, JCT

    , or relevant contract forms.
  • Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in

    cost management software

    (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in

    Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field

    .
  • Professional membership (

    MRICS, AIQS, CIOB

    , or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum

    8–16 years

    ’ experience in QS and contract management, with at least

    3–5 years

    in a managerial role.
  • Experience across

    construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects

    .
