Structural Steel Assembly /Erection Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure that the steel is assembled and erected according to the project's specifications and plans, and that the work is done in a safe and efficient manner.

2. Work closely with other members of the construction team, including the project manager, the architect, and the general contractor, to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.

3. Responsible for a wide range of tasks, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating the work of the steel erection crew, and overseeing the quality control of the work.

4. Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and plans and have a good understanding of construction methods and materials. Determine the sequence of erection. Select the appropriate equipment and rigging.

5. Attend project meetings, Review construction drawings and specifications, communicate with other trade supervisors, Coordinate the scheduling of work, Resolve conflicts and issues.

6. Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel towers and poles. Marks locations for new rivet holes to rectify errors.

7. Assists workers in performance of tasks, such as riveting, welding, bolting, and chipping, using portable power tools.

8. Develop and implement a comprehensive safety plan and ensure that all safety regulations are followed.

9. Provide proper training to all crew members, inspect all equipment and rigging regularly, monitor weather conditions and take appropriate precautions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background

  : Degree or Diploma in Engineering.

• Experience

  : 5+ years experience in Steel Structure Erection / Assembly.

• Communication Skills

  : Excellent communication skills are needed to effectively coordinate with other department and teams.
