Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Meeting with architects, designers, engineers and other stakeholders to discuss design ideas and ensure design accuracy.
Interpret and implement design specifications and requirements. Revise drawings based on feedback and updated specifications.
Presenting rough design drafts for client approval.
Calculate dimensions, weights, and stresses of various materials
Ensuring product designs meet required safety and industrial steel structural standards and comply with building codes and regulations.
Generating Solid and Surface CAD models using AutoCAD software.
Presenting various design perspectives for construction improvements and adaptations.
Maintain an organized database of drawings and design documents. Completing job reports. Document management and filing of all blueprints and plans.
Completion of drawings/designs using REVIT and AutoCAD.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelors degree in civil engineering and Relevant Certification in Autocad, Revit, TEKLA, RHINO as applicable
5+ years proven experience in structural steel drafting or secondary steel and envelope works (Cladding/Glazing etc).
Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology and ability to undertake clash detection works
Ability to work independently and manage multiple teams simultaneously.
Previous experience in a structural drafting role and understanding of structural engineering principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
