Quantity Surveyor /Cost Controller

Role Summary

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to be part of a team supporting our UK Sector teams providing; Rail, Highways, Infrastructure, Property, Industry and Energy Quantity Surveying services on several global projects for numerous key clients. As part of the team you will assist and enhance the service offering, and you will be part of an expanding WSP growth strategy

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, reporting and presentation of feasibility estimates, cost plans, cost models, contractor procurement, tenders, value engineering, fee generation, post contract cost reporting, change control, final account etc.
• Attend a range of internal meetings via Skype throughout the various stages of a project.
• Produce project performance information, collating benchmark data, case studies and project profiles.
• Identify principal risks and opportunities, raise awareness, address and resolve problems at project level.
• Support the project delivery team in the UK and maintain a schedule of potential financial implications for the various projects.
• Actively participate and support the bidding and tender opportunities as required and contribute to the continued growth of the office through development of staff in India.
• MRICS training available to suit the individual’s needs.

Key Competencies / Skills

Mandatory

• Proven track record of working on the delivery of high-value construction projects in the UK or internationally Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline.
• Qualified or working towards, MRICS.
• Trained on Revit or Cost X or similar Quantity measurement tools
• Comfortable interfacing with Senior Management and Stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills to make informed, balanced business decision and reporting findings via UK Colleagues to Clients and Stakeholders.
• Experience of work with Clients, QS Consultants, PMC, Contractors in India & International Region.
• Experience on International method of measurements like SMM7, NRM, POMI
• Able to communicate well in English with a high level of oral and written English expected.
• Happy to work with teams in the UK and able to foster collaborative relationships from a distance utilising collaboration tools such as Skype.
