Description
As a Model/Analysis/Validation Officer at the company, your role involves being a recognized technical authority in your area within the business. You will need to have basic commercial awareness and excellent communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince others, including colleagues from different areas and external customers. Your work will have a significant impact on the area you are responsible for, ultimately affecting the overall performance of the sub-function/job family. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop, enhance, and validate methods for measuring and analyzing risk across all risk types, including market, credit, and operational risks. - Manage model risk throughout the model life-cycle, including model validation, ongoing performance evaluation, and annual reviews. - Produce analytics and reports to manage risk for the company's operations. - Translate operational requests into programming and data criteria, conduct systems and operational research, and model expected results. - Assist in developing analytic engines for business product lines. - Communicate results to diverse audiences. - Conduct analysis and create detailed technical documentation reports for validation purposes, meeting regulatory guidelines and industry standards. - Identify modeling opportunities that drive measurable business results. - Provide guidance to junior validators as needed. - Manage stakeholder interaction with model developers and business owners throughout the model life-cycle. - Present model validation findings to senior management and supervisory authorities. - Provide effective challenge to model assumptions, mathematical formulation, and implementation. - Assess and quantify model risk due to limitations and inform stakeholders of their risk profile, developing compensating controls. - Contribute to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within the model risk organization. **Qualifications:** - 6-10 years of experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivated and detail-oriented - Project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously - Practical experience using SAS or similar statistical coding software for building and testing prediction models, comfortable interfacing with business clients, and proficiency in handling large data sets. - Experience in a quantitative role in risk management at a financial institution, with experience in model development or validation. - Good knowledge of various model development and validation testing techniques covering risk models. **Education:** - Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially a Master's degree In addition to the above, you will be part of the Risk Management job family group, specifically in the Risk Analytics, Modeling, and Validation job family.
