DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Quality Specialist ensures that products received or produced meet technical specifications and quality standards. This role involves using advanced measurement equipment, training others, and supporting process development. The individual works under minimal supervision and plays a key role in maintaining and improving quality systems and practices across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify final product quality on the production line using advanced measurement tools (e.g., Portable CMM, Romer Arm).
  • Compare physical characteristics of components and products against technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Segregate non-conforming products using both basic and complex measurement techniques.
  • Document quality issues and non-conformities using specified systems.
  • Train team members on measurement equipment usage and quality documentation practices.
  • Support development and implementation of new quality methods and procedures.
  • Report progress on problem resolution and quality improvements to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company-defined quality norms and standards.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies such as 7-Step and Why-Why analysis.
  • Assist in internal audits and maintain compliance with IATF standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • IATF Internal Auditor certification is highly desirable.
  • PolyWorks programming knowledge is an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing quality function.
  • Proficient in using quality measurement equipment (Portable CMM, Romer Arm).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems and internal auditing.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement practices.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Basic awareness of laboratory management and certification requirements.
