Quality Inspector - Engineering company

A Quality Inspector in an engineering company plays a pivotal role in ensuring that products and processes adhere to established quality standards and specifications. Their responsibilities encompass various stages of production, from inspecting raw materials to evaluating finished products, to guarantee compliance with industry regulations and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Inspection: Examine materials and components at different production stages using tools like calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to ensure they meet design specifications.
• Defect Identification: Detect and document any deviations or defects, initiating corrective actions to address quality issues promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality metrics to ensure traceability and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to communicate quality standards and resolve issues.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to process enhancement initiatives by suggesting innovative solutions to improve quality control procedures.

Typical Duties

• Interpret engineering drawings and technical documents to understand product requirements.
• Conduct tests to validate product durability, functionality, and safety using standardized methods.
• Monitor production operations to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate inspection findings to supervisors and participate in quality review meetings.
