We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quality Engineer in Test - I to help us ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. This is an entry-to-mid-level role ideal for individuals with foundational experience in testing and automation.

What you shall be doing at Svaksha…

As a QET-I, you will focus on execution, learning, and fundamental quality assurance practices, supporting the senior QET team.

1. Testing and Execution

• Execute detailed manual test cases (functional, regression, smoke) for web and mobile applications under guidance.
• Actively participate in exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining basic automation test scripts using tools like Cypress, Jest, or equivalent frameworks.
• Perform basic cross-browser and responsive design testing.

2. Quality and Documentation

• Accurately identify, log, and track software defects using bug-tracking systems (like Jira).
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of testing documentation, including test cases, test data, and basic test reports.
• Understand and follow the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and company quality standards.

3. Collaboration and Learning

• Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, and product teams to understand requirements and report findings.
• Actively seek feedback and knowledge from senior team members to grow technical testing skills.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for quality improvement.

What we are looking for….Required Skills & Experience (1–2 YoE)

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in software testing, preferably with web applications.
• Testing Fundamentals: Strong foundational knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies (Black Box, White Box).
• Automation Exposure: Basic knowledge of automated testing concepts and familiarity with tools/frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, or equivalent testing stacks.
• Bug Tracking: Hands-on experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Documentation: Basic proficiency with documentation tools like Google Docs/Sheets or Excel.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript).

Soft Skills

• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail in executing tests and reporting bugs.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective bug reporting and team collaboration.
• Adaptability: Eagerness to learn new tools and testing techniques quickly.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive attitude towards finding and solving technical issues.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications: Any relevant testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
