Quality Engineer

JOB Description QUALITY ENGINEER Quality Engineer will be reporting to Operations Manager and authorized for the following: Responsible for/ authorized to: a) Training and facilitating Quality Inspectors to conduct tool inspection, maintenance of records and calibration. b) Coordinating and controlling the NDE by 3rd party inspectors which includes reviewing the NDE procedures and reports. c) Monitoring and ensuring Quality Inspectors and 3rd party inspectors perform their functions effectively. d) Reviewing Inspection Reports and approving final release of product. e) Facilitating the Production in First Article Inspections and product qualifications by the customers and carry out inspection. f) Reviewing and ensuring that the quality documents like Material Hand Book, Quality Management System, Quality Procedures, Work Instructions and Inspection Forms are up to date as per the latest applicable standards. g) Ensuring proper accountability of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment including customer gauges, process equipment and items for incorporation into final delivered product. h) Ensuring calibration of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment (both internal by Quality Inspectors and external by agencies) and proper maintenance of calibration reports as per applicable procedures. i) Evaluating new suppliers/ subcontractors and periodic review of approved suppliers/ subcontractors. j) Verifying and ensuring correct documents/ reports are received along with the materials purchased. k) Initiating Corrective Actions on the product defects/ complaints raised internally or by the customers. l) Other work as assigned by Operations Manager and when required. m) Reviewing purchase orders for purchases. n) Review the engineering drawing before issuing for manufacture and servicing. Accountability a) Ensure that the quality control activities are carried out in a safe and effective way. b) Ensure that products conform to quality and customer requirements at every inspection stages and priorto release for delivery to customer. c) Ensure that non conformances details are effectively captured and communicated to affected personnel. d) Ensure that calibration of equipment is duly carried out and certified on time. e) Ensure that all Monitoring & Measuring Equipment are properly handled, preserved and stored. f) Ensure that all quality documents are properly maintained and issued on time to customer.
