Quality Control Specialist (AAC Blocks)

We are looking for a Quality Control Specialist to join our AAC block manufacturing team. This role is crucial in ensuring that every batch of blocks we produce meets BIS/ISI standards, customer expectations, and our own quality benchmarks. You will be responsible for monitoring raw materials, production processes, and finished goods through testing, inspection, and documentation.

Responsibilities

Raw Materials & Testing

• Check quality of incoming raw materials (cement, fly ash, lime, gypsum, aluminium powder, etc.) as per ISI norms.
• Maintain proper sampling and testing records for each batch.

In-Process Control

• Monitor slurry density, casting quality, mould handling, cutting accuracy, and autoclave curing.
• Ensure production teams follow approved mix ratios and curing cycles.
• Identify deviations quickly and work with production to correct them.

Finished Product Quality

• Conduct regular testing of AAC blocks for density, compressive strength, water absorption, dimensional accuracy, etc.
• Maintain a record of daily, weekly, and monthly QC test results.
• Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for failed batches and follow up on corrective action.

Compliance & Audits

• Ensure all products comply with IS 2185 (Part 3): 1984 and other BIS/ISI requirements.
• Support external audits (ISI, ISO, or customer visits).
• Keep calibration records for lab equipment up to date.

Reporting & Improvement

• Generate quality performance reports for management review.
• Suggest improvements to reduce rejections and wastage.
• Train operators and workers on basic quality awareness and good practices.

Requirements

• Experience: 2–5 years in Quality Control, preferably in AAC block / cement / construction materials industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of ISI standards for AAC blocks.
• Hands-on experience with compressive strength, density, and water absorption tests.
• Familiar with laboratory testing equipment and calibration procedures.
• Soft Skills:
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and report writing.
• Ability to work closely with production teams.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• % of batches passing ISI/BIS standards.
• Reduction in rejections and wastage.
• Accuracy and timeliness of QC reports.
• Successful completion of ISI/ISO audits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
