Quality Control Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to ensure that all modular furniture products (workstations, chairs, storages, tables) meet the highest quality standards before dispatch. The role includes inspecting raw materials, monitoring production, ensuring in-process quality, and performing final quality checks before delivery. Key Responsibilities: Inspect incoming raw materials (boards, hardware, powder-coated metal parts) as per defined quality standards. Monitor and audit in-process production on the shop floor for accuracy, finish, alignment, and hardware usage. Perform quality checks during key stages of fabrication and assembly. Conduct pre-dispatch inspection for each order – size, finish, edge banding, joinery, packing quality, and completeness. Maintain and update daily quality reports, inspection logs, and non-conformance records. Work closely with production and dispatch teams to ensure zero-defect delivery. Identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions to reduce rework or rejection. Ensure adherence to quality checklists and SOPs for all furniture product categories. Participate in quality training, audits, and process improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Experience: Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or Furniture Production Engineering. 1–3 years of experience in QC for modular furniture or interior fit-outs. Sound understanding of pre-laminated boards, hardware, metal structures, powder coating, and joinery systems. Attention to detail and ability to work independently under production timelines. Familiarity with quality documentation, reporting, and basic Excel.
