Job description Job Title: Civil Quality Engineer Overview: The Civil Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that construction and civil engineering projects adhere to quality standards. This role involves planning and executing material testing (including cube tests), maintaining rigorous documentation, and providing excellent client communication and support. Key Responsibilities Material Testing & Cube Testing: Perform on-site and laboratory tests on construction materials, including concrete cube tests, to assess strength, durability, and compliance with project specifications. Monitor and document test procedures, ensuring all tests are conducted in accordance with industry standards and regulations. Quality Assurance & Control: Develop and implement quality control plans and protocols to ensure construction work meets quality benchmarks. Collaborate with project teams to review design plans, material specifications, and quality standards. Identify potential issues early in the construction process and recommend corrective actions. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on test results, quality assessments, and inspection outcomes. Maintain up-to-date records of material properties, testing data, and compliance documentation. Assist in the creation and revision of project quality management documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Client Handling & Communication: Serve as the primary quality assurance contact for clients, addressing queries related to material testing and quality control. Provide clear and concise updates to clients and stakeholders regarding test outcomes and quality assessments. Coordinate with external testing agencies and regulatory bodies as needed to ensure compliance. Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends and technological advancements in material testing and quality assurance. Recommend process improvements to enhance quality control measures and testing procedures. Required Qualifications & Experience Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Technical Skills: Familiarity with testing standards such as ASTM, BS, or equivalent. Proficiency in using quality management software and tools. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with diverse teams. Strong client handling skills, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to propose effective quality improvements.
