QC Manager

Department:

Inward Quality

1) Monitoring goods inward inspection for all component parts / material entering the company. Also ensure that proper compliance is maintained towards design specification and contractual requirements, testing as per relevant documents/specification, PO, drawings, catalogues, test certificate receipt, etc

2) Monitoring of subcontracting QC

3) Putting up systems in place at inward stage for monitoring quality.

4) Maintaining and updating inward quality masters.

5) Analyse inspection results and usage decisions

6) Generate rejection trends, conduct root cause analysis, take corrective actions

7) Generate inspection reports for tested items and to maintain the records.

In process Quality

1) Defining the process of "In process quality" and implementing the same. Update the same whenever required.

2) Analysing quality deviations, rejections, rework and taking appropriate action.

Outgoing Quality

1) Defining the process of "Outgoing quality" and implementing the same.Update the same whenever required.

2) Analysing rejections / deviation analysis and taking appropriate action .

Systems & procedures

1) Designing inspection plans, control plans and setting up control charts.

2) Prepare quality control policies.

3) Drive standardized best practices on quality monitoring, feedback process across production.

4) Should effectively use the QC tools wherever required to measure, monitor and improve the quality performance.

5) Defining the policy for retention of records and implementing the same.

6) Putting up systems in place at each stage for monitoring quality.

Vendor

1) Sample approval - Involvement in technical aspect of vendor evaluation in addition to sample approval.

2) Working with suppliers on quality related tasks, audits and incidents.

3) Driving supplier quality improvements.

4 )Handling supplier audits, data collection and analysis and quality related items, including issues and changes.

5) Examine & record maintenance for vendor test reports / certificates

6) Define the purpose of Vendor/ subcontractor visit with calender of visit. Also ensure that the same is getting documented.

Customer satisfaction

1) Align quality to customer requirements and ensuring quality is measured in the same way.

2) Participate in customer complaint analysis & provide corrective action with respect to that.

3) Customer PPM monitoring(overall & individual)

4) Responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance by complying with quality and industry regulatory requirements.

5) Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues. Follow up with purchase, accounts, stores depts for closing the QMS NCRs/notifications.

E.R.P.

1) Ensuring effective use of E.R.P for entire quality function.

2) Generation of various value added reports.

3) Testing of module by the team from time to time.

4) Giving suggestion for converting manual processes to E.R.P based processes.

5) Accuracy of data in system with respect to various masters etc.

MIS

Submission of MIS should be done on timely basis.

Others

1) Support management in formation of quality objectives & take actions to achieve department's objectives

2)Proactively improving capability and capacity of quality department operations through new methods, tools or skills.

3)Should maintain perfection in critical processes and supporting activities toward sustaining profitable growth.

4)Work to improve an organization's efficiency and profitability by reducing wastage and implementing Kaizen, continual improvement, etc.

Inter department Co-ordination

Lead quality reviews with all stakeholders such as operations, clients, senior management etc.

Coordinate with production for quality checking activities at various stages.

Co-ordination with external agencies for audit / compliance related to certifications.

Training & development

Develop appropriate processes and train employees with respect to quality audit.

Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.

ISO9001 QMS, Safety, 5'S , UL/CSA , RoHS ,REACH and other certification process

Training subordinates on effective communication, quality related testing etc.

Certification

1)Prepare and update quality documentation by keeping the base for their processes on a recognized standard such as ISO, etc.

2)Follow and monitor all compliances with respect to ISO, Safety,5'S ,UL/CSA , RoHS ,REACH and other certifications.

3) Completing quality documentations and formalities in connection to recognised standards like ISO 9001, etc.

Quality functions

Verify / revisit all process parameters.

Should religiously check COPQ(cost of poor quality) on a continuous basis.

Analyse the failure that is occurring and accordingly take corrective and preventive action.

Interpret engineering drawings in order to allow measurement and reports to be generated.

Identify and record any non-conformances to specification requirements. Liaison with design department to resolve such issues.

Complete the work as per prescribed time limit by utilizing the available resources and to manage urgencies.

Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality.

Devise sampling plan and other procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data.

Review quality and inspection systems .

Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities by evaluating audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Monitor quality related risk management activities.

Supplier Performance Index analysis as per defined level & action plan

Follow up with purchase for process rejections and resolve the issues with suppliers.

Conducts rigorous analysis on rejections and estimates loss in terms of values.

Calibration schedule monitoring. Coordinate with external agencies for calibrations

Budgeting

Coordination with costing dept towards annual budget required to buy capital equipment / training needs, etc. related to quality

Ensure department is working as per approved budget.

Technical points

Understand the general & specific requirements of a customer wrt QC procedures.

Validation of processes (Process qualification for Soldering, hardening, riveting Press fitting , processes, etc)
