Job Description

Role & responsibilities Research and identify potential suppliers for various automotive components, materials, and systems. Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality standards, production capacity, and financial stability. Conduct supplier audits and site visits to assess their manufacturing facilities and processes. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure open communication and collaboration. Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions. Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines; address any issues proactively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to develop sourcing strategies aligned with project and business goals. Identify opportunities to consolidate and optimize the supply base for improved efficiency. Analyze supplier quotations and cost breakdowns to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, value engineering, and process improvements. Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain, such as geopolitical, logistical, or quality-related risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure a stable supply chain. Collaborate with engineering teams during the design and development phase to provide sourcing input and ensure components are designed for manufacturability and cost efficiency. Work closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, including quality enhancement and lead time reduction. Conduct regular performance reviews and share feedback to foster mutual growth. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience 7-8 years in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the automobile or manufacturing sector. Excellent command on English language, especially rules of syntax, punctuation, and grammar. Readiness for a minimum of 3 years of commitment. Solid understanding of automotive components, materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to perform cost analysis and make datadriven decisions. Proficiency in using sourcing and procurement soware tools. Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel for supplier visits and audits as required.
