Position Title: Purchase Head Reports To: Plant HeadRole OverviewThe Purchase Head will be responsible for leading and managing the complete procurement function, including sourcing, vendor development, material planning, and cost control for the manufacturing unit. The role ensures timely availability of raw materials, moulding components, and consumables to support uninterrupted production operations.This leadership role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship skills to achieve the companys cost, quality, and delivery objectives. The Purchase Head will play a key part in driving strategic procurement initiatives, vendor base strengthening, and overall supply chain efficiency.Key Responsibilities

• 1. Strategic Procurement & Material Planning (35%)
• Develop and implement the companys procurement strategy aligned with production and business goals.
• Plan material requirements in coordination with Production, Stores, and Planning teams to ensure OTIF delivery.
• Optimize procurement costs through strategic sourcing, rate contracts, and supplier consolidation.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
• Manage procurement budgets, purchase orders, and approvals within company policy.
• 2. Vendor Development & Management (40%)
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for raw materials, plastic granules, moulding parts, and mechanical components.
• Strengthen vendor base for cost competitiveness, quality reliability, and supply consistency.
• Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and capacity assessments.
• Establish long-term relationships with key vendors for strategic sourcing and localization.
• Ensure suppliers comply with quality standards, delivery timelines, and contractual terms.
• 3. Cost Optimization & Supply Chain Improvement (15%)
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and improved logistics planning.
• Collaborate with R&D and Production teams to identify and localize imported materials.
• Ensure inventory levels are optimized through better forecasting and planning.
• Develop MIS reports and dashboards to track procurement performance and KPIs.
• 4. Compliance, Team Management & Continuous Improvement (10%)
• Ensure adherence to company policies, commercial terms, and statutory compliances in all purchase activities.
• Lead and mentor the purchase team, ensuring capability development and accountability.
• Implement ERP/SAP-based systems for transparent and efficient procurement operations.
• Promote continuous improvement culture in the procurement function through Kaizen and Lean initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities
Support Plant Head and Director in strategic vendor negotiations and long-term sourcing agreements. Collaborate with Finance and Stores for GRN verification, payments, and audit support. Provide regular updates on market movements, material cost trends, and procurement risks.¢ Represent the company in vendor meetings, trade fairs, and supplier development programs.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
