Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement of Civil Materials

• Source and procure

  civil construction materials

  such as cement, steel, aggregates, sand, bricks, blocks, ready-mix concrete (RMC), tiles, stone, pipes, fittings, and finishing materials.
• Ensure timely availability of materials as per

  project requirements and schedules

  .

2. Vendor Sourcing & Development

• Identify, evaluate, and empanel

  vendors and suppliers

  for civil items.
• Obtain quotations, conduct

  price comparisons, negotiations

  , and finalize purchase orders.
• Maintain healthy relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  

3. Purchase Orders & Documentation

• Prepare and issue

  Purchase Orders (POs)

  in line with approved indents.
• Ensure PO terms cover price, quantity, delivery schedule, payment terms, and quality specifications.
  
• Maintain purchase records, vendor files, and procurement MIS.
  

4. Cost Control & Negotiation

• Negotiate best prices and commercial terms to achieve

  cost savings

• Monitor market trends and price fluctuations of key civil materials.
  
• Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
  

5. Coordination with Projects & Stores

• Coordinate with

  project, site, stores, and planning teams

  for material requirements and delivery schedules.
• Ensure materials are delivered at site as per specifications and timelines.
  
• Resolve supply issues, shortages, and delays proactively.
  

6. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure materials meet

  approved quality standards, specifications, and brand approvals

  .
• Coordinate inspections, test certificates, and quality documentation as required.
  
• Ensure compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
  

7. Inventory & Stock Monitoring

• Monitor material consumption and stock levels at site.
  
• Avoid overstocking, shortages, and wastage.
  
• Support reconciliation of material quantities with stores and billing teams.
  

8. Vendor Payment & Support

• Coordinate with finance/accounts for

  timely vendor payments

  .
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment-related issues.
  
• Maintain transparent and ethical procurement practices.
  

Candidate Profile

Education

• Graduate / Diploma in

  Civil Engineering, Supply Chain, or Materials Management

Experience

• 3–8 years of experience in

  purchase/procurement of civil construction materials

• Exposure to

  construction sites, EPC projects, or real estate developments

Technical & Functional Skills

• Knowledge of civil materials, specifications, and brands
  
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  
• Proficiency in

  MS Excel, ERP / Purchase software

• Understanding of GST and basic commercial terms
